Located 110 km from Lucknow, Naimishaaranya is a place of immense spiritual importance. Legend has it that once the sages wished to perform a huge yajna for the benefit of humankind, and were looking for a suitable place to do so. They decided to ask for Brahma's help. Brahma is said to have created a huge wheel/discus, called Manomaya Chakra. He instructed the sages to follow it and perform the yajna wherever it broke.
